What you will be doing

As part of our continued expansion, Ignite Technology is looking for an Automation Consultant to join our dynamic Services team delivering Automic projects within the UK & EMEA. This is an excellent opportunity for Senior Automation Consultants to engage with some of our high-profile customer organisations.

The Senior Automation Consultant has full responsibility for the delivery of the project to the customer, consulting and advising customers in terms of their requirements and designing of the final solution.

Primary duties will include;

  • Automate business and data center processes with Broadcom /CA Scheduling Software Automic Workload Automation (UC4)
  • Conception, implementation and support of automation projects for our customers
  • Development of jobs based on Unix, Windows Batch, Powershell or SQL
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the scheduling landscape and processes, as well as error analysis and troubleshooting in the event of malfunctions
  • Provide support and advice to internal and external customers in the mapping of business processes
  • Update and modernize the automation solution, as well as its components and interfaces
  • Set up batch jobs in UC4 along with System Admin Experience in batch automation
  • Set up UC4 Job Scheduling Environment from scratch along with Agent installations, Job Set up & Housekeeping for the UC4 Quality systems
  • Create and Migrate Jobs and workflows flows across environments
  • Create FTP jobs to transfer the files
  • Install and manage Unix and Web Automic agent.
  • Apply patches and upgrades to Automic engine interface versions & set up housekeeping job
  • Manage and close issues across an integrated landscape
  • Interact directly with the Client team
  • Server (single instance / cluster) patching automation for a client with 30 000+ servers
  • Automated server commissioning & decommissioning orchestration
  • OS / DB / application backup automation & orchestration
  • Network management tasks automation & orchestration (DNS record creation/modification/deletion, periodic network failover testing)
  • Application management tasks automation & orchestration (stop / start / restart / deploy / patch / undeploy / backup / restore / DR switchover / SSL certificate renewal)
  • CMDB, Service Desk (ServiceNow, HP Service Manager) & monitoring (HP Operations Manager, Zabbix) and 3rd party automation tools (Ansible, Symantec Ghost, Chef, Ranorex etc.) integration
  • HA & DR ready massively scalable automation infrastructure design & build
  • UC4/Automic training delivery: Automic Workload Automation Design & Administration, Automic Release Automation
  • Automic Automation / UC4 enterprise automation & orchestration consulting and Training courses development & delivery for clients
  • Provide coaching/mentoring/training to other members of the technical team

What we are looking for

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience;

  • 5+ Years of experience as a UC4 Automic Programmer
  • Automic Hands-on Experience in creating Jobs and defining Job Properties for SAP Jobs & Web Services, FTP thru UC4, calendars, schedules, dependency and orchestrate workflows
  • Familiar with job configuration and testing of batch jobs in Automic platform.
  • Exp on Scripting related to UC4.
  • Someone who will evangelise Automation on value to the customers’ business, not just functions and features.
  • Languages: English is a must, but other Northern European languages would be an advantage
